We recently completed our latest project: Plastic Lockers for a Primary School!

THE VISION💡

A Primary School in Wolverhampton, West Midlands, got in contact with us about installing a series of lockers. They required somewhere for students to store PE kits, bags and coats during school hours to prevent excess lost property. The Primary School setting meant lockers needed to be at a suitable height for all students to reach easily. Lockers also needed to be made of a material which was both easy to clean and durable for day-to-day use.

Most importantly, they requested that these lockers could be installed during the 6-week holiday. This is because they wanted students to have a seamless transition back into school in September.

THE JOURNEY ⚒️

We organised a free site visit to discuss their requirements in more depth. Our trained representative took measurements and made sketches of their unique space. This was to ensure the suggested lockers would fit in the corridors, whilst leaving enough space for students to walk by.

Using this information, our trained representative explored our lockers to find the most suitable option for their space. A tailored quote was then created, including a completion date within the 6-weeks holiday.

Happy with our suggestions, we supplied and fitted 210 durable Fortis Plastic Lockers in the height 450mm. The choice of swivel latch locks meant teachers do not need to worry about their students loosing their keys and having to source replacements. The vibrant locker colours of red, yellow, blue and green add a vibrant touch to their corridors.

• Size variations: Did you know that our Fortis Lockers come in three different heights, including 450mm, 600mm and 900mm. To ensure all children could access the lockers, this primary school opted for our smallest size variation. But our larger sized lockers would be ideal within secondary school environments, or even leisure centre facilities. Additionally, all our locker sizes are stackable, allowing for a custom fit to suit your needs!

• Lock options: At Direct2U, we understand the importance of keeping valuable goods secure within a locker. That is why we offer four different locking options to suit your environment. Swivel Latch Lock (as chosen by this Primary School) allow for students to access locker contents without a key. However, if installed into a Secondary School, students can supply their own padlock for further security. We also offer Standard Cam Locks (two keys supplied per lock, allowing for individual protection, whilst keeping a spare copy handy) as well as Coin Return Locks, which accept £1 coins (wet area coin returns also available).

• Accessories: Flat-roof lockers can easily lead to a build up of dust and dirt, especially when stacked at a tall height. That is why we offer sloping roofs to prevent this build up. Additionally, locker stands are available for easy underneath cleaning.
