Why choose a general purpose workbench?

Our range of general purpose workbenches are ideal for a multitude of applications due to versatile design. This bench comes in a choice of four widths: 900mm, 1200mm, 1500mm and 1800mm all at 840mm high. There is then a further three options of depths; 600mm, 750mm and 900mm.

What makes the general purpose workbench so special?

  • This workbench is designed and manufactured from square tube frames.
  • Laminate or mfc worktop
  • The square tube provides greater strength and supports the workbench
  • Each bench is fitted with two support beams that run across the bottom of the bench which prevent movement
  • The basic bench as described above has been designed to accept a full range of accessories starting with the below the bench range
  • Choice of a single drawer unit, triple drawer unit or cupboard which can be fitted in any position underneath the bench
  • Each drawer is fitted on glide runners which allow for easy movement, can easily clip in and out
  • Two thirds access to the drawer when fully open to prevent full drawers from tipping

  • Airflow drilled inwards so no nuts are required when bolting together

So what is a UDL?

UDL* or Uniformly Distributed Load is a load or weight applied to a structure which is evenly distributed across the area where it is maintained in this case our general purpose workbench. The workbench has a 250kg UDL which means is can withstand up to 250kg positioned/loaded onto the bench when evenly distributed. Sometime this is also referred to as a Safe Working Load (SWL).
