Dating back to the 1970s, the Earth Day event was born in the United States, however, it is now marked all over the world. It now involves over one billion people of all ages in nearly 200 countries.
It is a global event which strives to highlight the importance of protecting our environment. Each year on the 22nd of April, leaders strive to engage the public and push green issues.
The official Earth Day website includes an amazing app feature where you can see all the events and activities happening near you and all over the world. You can also register your event here and add it to the map!
This year’s theme is ‘Our Power, Our Planet’. So whether a school, individual or business, be sure to get involved! The idea behind this theme is to get behind renewable energy, to triple the use of clean energy sources by 2030.
