Wiggins to Attempt Cycling Challenge

Sir Bradley Wiggins is to attempt to win a first cycling time trial title at the Road World Championships today. Now 34, Wiggins came second in 2011 and 2013, beaten by the same German Tony Martin, who he beat to get Olympic gold in 2012. Commuters who are more active i.e. cycling to work, tend to be able to concentrate better and felt under less strain than when they travel to work via car a study by University of East Anglia found. London’s Cycle Superhighway Plans

Two new Cycle Superhighways were unveiled in London yesterday which includes an 18 mile continuous East to West cycle route nicknamed the “Crossrail for Bikes”. The new routes will run East – West from Tower Hill to Westbourne Terrace and then North – South from Kings Cross to Elephant and Castle. The new routes will be substantially segregated and road space will be reallocated to those on bikes including one whole lane of the Westway flyover. Thousands Attend Sky Ride Event

Leicester’s annual Sky Ride event was held this weekend with thousands of people turning up to take part. The event consisted of a 5 mile traffic free route through some of Leicester’s top attractions starting at Bede Park then on to King Power Stadium, Town Hall, Cathedral Gardens and the Cultural Quarter. Along side the cycling there was also attractions and free bike check ups.
