Be prepared for fast response to any spill

WHY INVEST IN A SPILL KIT?

Spills in the workplace are a costly affair if not dealt with quickly and correctly. They can lead to slip and fall injuries, contamination, unsafe working conditions and hefty fines! Don’t take any risk when it comes to handling liquids at work: invest in a quality spill kit!

Absorbents are part of Secondary Containment, measures to contain spills and prevent them from spreading. Spill Kits are sealed containers that are equipped with everything you might need in the event of an emergency response.

Before buying your spill control equipment, make sure you have assessed all work-related hazards, including the probability of spills, areas prone to spills, fluid types and spill volumes. These will help you select the best product for your workplace.

A spill kit will typically include absorbent pads, socks, pillows, vinyl gloves and disposal bags. They are organised to contain spills as fast as possible, with containment products such as socks on top, and absorbents and disposal bags under. Some spill kits are organised in lift-out cartons to help reduce spill response time as well.

Some of our spill kits also include helpful guidance and accessories. Please note that spill kits do not contain Personal Protective Equipment. Containers can be sealed to prevent tampering and pilfering. For daily maintenance jobs, see our range of individual Absorbents.

CHOOSE BY FLUIDS ABSORBED

To begin with, make sure you have a list of most commonly spilled liquids. We highly recommend you request a chemical compatibility sheet before placing your order.

Universal Spill Kits

These sorbents soak up the widest range of liquids, ideal for maintenance and everyday applications. They absorb Oils, Coolants, Solvents and Water, which makes them useful for Farms, Factories and Production Lines.

Hydraulic Oil, Vegetable Oil, Fuel, Diesel Fuel, Antifreeze, Water-based Solvents, Propylene Glycol, Acetone, Toluene, Xylene, Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK) & Non-corrosive Liquids.

Oil-Only Spill Kits

Oil absorbents repel water naturally whilst only absorbing oils, ideal for spills on land or water. Use them on Fuels and Oil-based Liquids. Perfect for cleaning up oil spills on water, in the rain or just indoors. Ideal for Machine Shops and Garages.

Motor Oil, Hydraulic Oil, Petrol, Diesel Fuel, Kerosene, Vehicle Fluids, Vegetable Oil, Oil-based Solvents.

Chemical Spill Kits

Hazmat Absorbents are treated to absorb chemical or hazardous spills without degrading or reacting to liquids such as Acids, Caustics and Unknown Liquids. Ideal in Laboratories, Factories, Farms and Pharmaceuticals.

Sulfuric Acid, Hydrochloric Acid, Nitric Acid, Hydrofluoric Acid, Phosphoric Acid, Sodium Hydroxide, Potassium Hydroxide, Hydrogen Peroxide.

CHOOSE BY SPILL VOLUME

Statistics show that most industrial spills are less than 190 litres. Depending on the probability of spills and the largest spill volume, place kits in spill-prone areas.

Spills under 50 Litres

Clean Small Spills

Smaller kits to tackle smaller spills. They’ve got the essentials to contain and clean up spills in emergency spill response situations. They typically include Absorbent Pads, an Absorbent Sock, optionally an Absorbent Pillow and equipment to safely dispose of used Absorbents.

Spills between 51 and 190 Litres

Clean Medium Spills

Most spills in the workplace will not go over 190 litres, so most products for that capacity will be suitable for your needs. However, we strongly recommend you assess the probability of spills going over or under this range, so you can budget for a spill kit accordingly!

Spills over 190 Litres

Clean Large Spills

Larger spills need bulkier and more absorbent products, organised neatly to help decrease response time during emergencies. Spill kits with a bigger capacity might contain spill barriers as well for a complete solution.

CHOOSE BY CONTAINER TYPE

Some of our spill kits are designed to have an accessible container, depending on your workplace needs. Some kits have hinged lids, double doors, zippers, hasp and staples, keyed locks, braked wheels, etc.

Static Spill Kits

Static kits such as bins, round containers, overpacks are typically lightweight and can be carried during an emergency. They are liquid-tight and will not let any rainwater or humidity in, which can potentially affect the absorbency of stored products.

Portable Spill Kits

Portable kits such as shoulder bags and carry bags with handle are smaller containers with easily accessible contents for lighter spills. They are usually protected by a zipper or clip-close to prevent humidity or dust from entering.

Wheeled Spill Kits

Wheeled kits are the most ergonomic solution you can offer employees. Containers can be rolled and braked at spill location, preventing injuries. Look out for castor options, including simply Nylon wheels, Rubber wheels and No-Flat heavy-duty wheels.

CHOOSE BY ABSORBENT COLOUR

Absorbents are highly versatile products. They don’t only soak up hazardous fluids, but also provide visual cues or discretion, working towards a safer workplace for all! Some of our Absorbents are designed to blend into work environments, whilst others stand out for safety.

Grey Absorbents

Grey Grime-Hiding Finish

Products with a Grey colour are usually code for universal, meaning they can absorb a wide range of liquids. They are most commonly used to hide grime and for discreetly soaking up spills. The added Camo design hides grime better and can help extend product life.

White Absorbents

White High Visibility Finish

White absorbents are ideal in situations where tracking the absorbency is critical. The white colour shows the level of saturation while also being high visible in the workplace. White mats can also indicate if absorbed chemicals are inert.

Yellow & Pink Absorbents

High Visibility Yellow & Pink Finish

High visibility Yellow is a highly sought colour for safety products. Absorbents are usually visible in low light conditions and alert to potential hazards nearby. Pink usually indicate higher quality of the absorbents and is more commonly used in laboratories.
