The Size and Positioning<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The optimum size of the workbench depends on the work that is to be done, the space you have available and of course budget.<\/h2>\n

Deciding where to position your bench is also important. Some people like to have access to all sides whereas other people prefer the bench to be next to a wall. There are benefits for both. If your workbenches are being used to create a production line then being able to place them  against a wall is high unlikely as well as impractical. However, if you have an individual work area then there are advantages for wall placement. One advantage is that tools can be stored on the wall above the bench within easy reach, which will limit the amount of turning and bending around required (however below and above the bench storage can also achieve this).<\/p>\n

The Base<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The base of your workbench if arguably one of the most important design elements.<\/h3>\n

A workbench base should support the worktop whilst not moving or \u2018parallelograming\u2019. There are three main types of workbench available: those with an open base, those with underneath storage and those with a bottom shelf. You will see that some of the workbenches available such as our Square Tube Industrial Workbenches<\/a> are designed with two support bars at the bottom of the workbench which run parallel to the worktop. These have been incorporated into the design to ensure greater strength and rigidity, preventing the bench from moving when used for more industrial applications.<\/p>\n

Manufacturers are keen to provide you with a workbench that will meet your work demands and which will ultimately be a bench with long service.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

In order to cater for everyone\u2019s needs workbenches are available with an array of work surfaces. From laminate, MFC, steel, to static dissipative surfaces the choice is vast.
