There are many reasons why we should recycle in the UK. It\u2019s surprising the number of people that do not realise the benefits it can bring! That is why we have compiled a list of reasons why you to recycle.<\/p>\n

Recycling<\/a> conserves resources<\/strong>
\nRecycling can help conserve important raw materials, protecting natural habitats along the way. When we recycle however, used materials are converted into new products, reducing the need to use natural resources and raw materials.<\/p>\n

Recycling helps protect the environment<\/strong>
\nThe natural environment was touched upon in the above point. But recycling can help the environment further than protecting natural habitats. Recycled paper alone can save millions of trees. Recycling also reduces the need for extracting, refining and processing raw materials, all of which create air and water pollution.<\/p>\n

Recycling saves energy<\/strong>
\nDid you know more energy is required to extract, refine, transport and process raw materials compared with providing industry-ready recycled materials? Using recycled materials in the manufacturing process uses considerably less energy than producing new products from raw materials. Saving energy also reduces greenhouse gas emissions, which helps to tackle climate change.<\/p>\n

Recycling reduces landfill<\/strong>
\nRecycling waste reduces the amount of rubbish sent to landfill sites. In2011, landfill sites in the UK produced a quarter of the UK\u2019s emissions of methane, a powerful greenhouse gas which can harm the environment.<\/p>\n
