We’re walking the walk for Promise Dreams

Last year we took part in ‘Walk for Dreams’ in aid of Promise Dreams. And this year we’re doing it all again!

Start of Promise Dreams Walk for Dreams 2014

Here we are before last year’s walk with Promise Dreams mascot Poppet!

We believe Promise Dreams is truly a worthy cause. They are a wish granting charity who help fulfil the dreams of terminally ill and seriously ill children across the UK.

A dream can be anything from meeting a favourite tv character and creating special memories with family and friends, to providing life changing equipment which can really make a difference to their day to day lives.

Since the charity’s launch in 2001 Promise Dreams have raised over £2,000,000 and have made the dreams of over 1,250 children come true. Walk for Dreams is one of their busiest events with 1000s taking part in the walk. The day is all about having fun with family and friends, whilst making a real difference and ensuring that this special charity can continue the amazing work that they do!

What, Where and When?

The annual event is a 9 mile walk from Himley Hall in Staffordshire to Wolverhampton Racecourse, passing many landmarks on the way including Wolverhampton University Arts Building and the Molineux stadium. It’s taking place on the 13th September 2015, which is ONLY 52 days from today!

It’s a family event with people of all ages taking part. Last year’s walk had a great party atmosphere and was a fantastic day out for all. At the finishing line you can relax with your family and friends whilst enjoying a much needed celebratory drink. There’s also plenty going on at the finish line with refreshments, music, family events and places to just sit and relax!

Building on last year’s success…

In total we raised £1455 for Promise Dreams by taking part in Walk for Dreams. Overall they raise a massive £34,142 which has helped many seriously ill and terminally ill children across the UK.

This year we’d like to match this or raise more if we can! To put this amount into perspective £1400 would buy a specially adapted buggy that would enable a family to take their disabled child to a park or beach safely.
