The Lake District has long been a popular destination for walkers and climbers but many are unaware of the bike trails, winding bridleways and single paths that are available for cyclists. People travel from across the globe to get a glimpse of the breathtaking scenery the Lake District has to offer and its all here on your doorstep! Whether you go on an organised tour or personalise your trip with a DIY adventure you will not be disappointed.<\/p>\n

2. Brittany<\/span><\/p>\n

If you\u2019re looking for a more laid-back, easy cycling holiday then this idyllic part of France could be perfect for you. Brittany is blessed with being mostly flat with lots to see and do including fishing ports, little villages and much more. You\u2019ll need to set aside 8 days to make the most of this trip with cycling hotels available along the way.<\/p>\n

3. Provence<\/span><\/p>\n

For those who are serious about cycling and want more of a challenge \u2013 why not attempt the Tour de France? The Upper Provence, Ventoux and Luberon is a six day tour that starts in Avignon. Featured on the tour is the climb up Mont Ventoux \u2013 1912m \u2013 which is a regular in the Tour De France. Another selling point of this tour is the many stops in acclaimed wine-making towns where you can sip away the evenings.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re looking for a family friendly cycling holiday then Morocco is ideal. Not only can you cycle along the coast and desert, but Morocco also has a lot more to offer in terms of entertainment for families. Experience treasure hunting in souks, camel rides in the desert and surfing. Cycling specialists Saddle Skedaddle\u2019s Morocco Desert, Coast and Mountains trip has a wide range of trips on offer.<\/p>\n

5. South America<\/span><\/p>\n

If you\u2019re looking for more a length get away then South America could be perfect for you. Cycling expeditions here can take as little as 10 days and stretch to over five months. Tour d\u2019Afrique\u2019s South American Epic is the longest supported cycling tour in the world and covers the entire content starting in Columbia and ending in Argentina. This tour is a staggering 13,641km (that\u2019s 8476.12 miles)! If you don\u2019t have that much time to dedicate to it or don\u2019t fancy some of the tour you can join in at several stages including Carretera Austral in Patagonia \u2013 a 27 day tour and Chile Lake District \u2013 which is a 13 day tour.<\/p>\n
